Comedy Fights Cancer currently organizes about 30 shows a year, including New Year's Eve shows at hospitals and care facilities and since 2002 has served roughly 5000 patients and their families. While CFC's monthly core program is at New York City's Memorial Sloan-Kettering, CFC comics have performed in hospitals from Long Island to Colorado. CFC's Medical Advisory Board includes Dr. Patrick Borgen, MSKCC's Chief of Breast Services and Dr. Steven Leibel, President of the Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto, CA. CFC's Humor Column has appeared in InTouch Magazine and received press attention from Newsday. CFC's work has been featured on NY's Fox5 TV, the Hamptons PlumTV and in print media such as The Hollywood Reporter and Good Housekeeping Magazine. Most recently, CFC was profiled in an NIH-funded public radio series about the palliative effects of humor on healing.

Abby Russell, independent television producer with Nuforms Media, founded Comedy Fights Cancer after her father fell ill with prostate cancer, the same disease that killed her grandfather. She saw first-hand how comedy heals as she witnessed her fathers recovery.
